Strengths & Development Areas
The Assessor has rarely encountered a stronger faith in the commitment
to training and development as is evidenced in this organisation. Everybody
was quite clear as to what the organisation was trying to achieve and
this was consistently updated by contacts with the Owner.
The Assessor identified no development areas under the Principle of the
Standard - JOHN CALDER Investors in People Scotland
The Tor-na-Coille Hotel was the first Independent Hotel in the North
East of Scotland to achieve this award. The award was given for a second
time.

Weddings
Brian Burnett - Best Man at Peter and Joanne MacInnes Wedding
Roxanne,
I recently had the privilege of performing the duties of the best man
at the Wedding of Peter and Joanne MacInnes, the reception of which was
held at the Tor-na-Coille hotel. I am fairly certain that Peter will have
thanked you for everything prior to departing, but I would like to add
my thanks and appreciation for all the hard work and obvious attention
to detail. Your attention to detail was quite obvious to everyone who
entered your dining room prior to the meal, this was especially appreciated
by myself, and it is this attention to detail which sets your Hotel on
a different level from many other hotels which I have visited.
Can you please convey my thanks to all members of your Staff who were always polite and extremely helpful when approached, the whole event was a great advert for your Hotel.
I must add a special note of thanks to Susan and Simon. Congratulations and best wishes to the Hotel and Staff for the future.

Dear Roxanne,
We would like to thank you for the part played by Staff at the Hotel in the wonderful day we all enjoyed. Many guests commented very favourably on the splendid meal and the beautiful surroundings for the meal and dancing. We were able to talk in comfort during brief pauses in the dancing (at least some of us were) and the gardens made a wonderful backdrop to the arrival at the hotel and the photographs.
Our meal was beautifully prepared and presented and skilfully served in a friendly and relaxed manner. All of your Staff were quietly attentive at all times and really appeared to enjoy the event themselves. Please pass on our sincere and genuine thanks to them all for their efforts.
We were also grateful for the help and support of Susan, in making many of the arrangements and Simon on the day itself. In addition your own personal attention to every detail of the event, and to providing support to us was greatly appreciated. We both felt completely at ease and relaxed throughout this most happy occasion.
We are so glad that we decided to come to you to organise the reception for us, and will recommend you to all our friends without hesitation. Those who were there will not need this recommendation, however.
